Recording system for mission data
Robust and compact data recording systems serve to reconstruct mission-relevant incidents and document and record mission data. Connected to the vehicle subsystems, data recorders from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics collect, digitise, store and compress information and sensor data from a variety of sources.
Possible sources that can be active simultaneously include analogue video data from the observation system and reconnaissance equipment, audio data from the on-board intercom system and navigation data. The system encodes and stores all of the data. The data can be viewed and evaluated immediately with the help of appropriate software. The system is equipped with peripheral devices for this purpose.
Performance overview:
- Ruggedized mission data recorder
- Processes analogue video data
- Records navigation data
- Vehicle-oriented interfaces
- Immediately readable via software
- Integrated into the vehicle IT
Important standards and product characteristics
Functions
Data recording systems from KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics are based on COM Express technology. This enables the construction of a computer system reduced to its core functionalities, but bootable and compact.
- Frame grabber
- Processing
- Peripherals
Frame grabber
The recording devices have an image capture circuit for processing the analogue video data that is connected to the basis board of the computer system via the Mini-PCIe.
Processing
The multi-core processor system of the recording devices enables parallel processing of different processes.
Peripherals
Extensive equipment with interfaces means there are different ways to read out the data logging systems.
